You CAN Payoff $100,000 of Debt

Paying off debt is hard work!

For motivation Monday I wanted to bring you a video about a “normal” family of four who paid off more than $123,000 of debt and cashflow $30K of medical expenses!

How did they do it? HARD WORK! In 2010 they had 10 W-2’s to report for taxes.–that’s a lot of jobs!

Check out the McDonough’s cool debt free story and a video of them on the local news (sorry about the ad–not mine).

Lessons Learned from McDonough Family

  • You CAN change your situation.
  • Sacrifice is often necessary to clean up your mess.
  • I’ve learned that I am wimp and need to step up my game. Jen has completed 24+ triathlons and Ironman races . She has a book about her amazing racing accomplishments if you want to be inspired (Living Beyond Awesome).
  • If your kid is sick, you’ll find a way to make it work.
  • No hole is too big to dig yourself out of.

If this family made it work, then you can too. It’s time to roll up your sleeves and get out of debt.

No tricks, no shortcuts, just hard work.

What are your thoughts after viewing this video and hearing the McDonough’s story?

    • Great stories are meant to be told. Can’t wait for your book.

  • I’m living this story…..I’m 3 years into a 5 year program to pay off close to $110,000 in debt. Nobody said it was going to be easy, but it will be worth it!

Of course you can! I know – in the last 2.5 years we have paid off $128,000 worth of debt (£78,000). It is hard work but it is also an art form – it is not simply paying off debt, it is how do you pay it.

    • Maria, those are some big numbers in a short time!

      Way to go!!
That is a ton of debt you have paid off!
We are up to $150,000 paid off and up to over $30,000 worth of medical out of pocket expenses being paid for in 3 years .
It is an awesome feeling isn’t it?

  • So awesome…makes me feel really excited and nervous to pay off my future student loans. So inspiring.

    • You’ll have a big shovel to dig out of your big hole. Dig hard and fast!

    • Best of luck tackles those student loans – it will feel so awesome when you do!!
